Tributes are flowing in from within and beyond the Hindi film industry for actor Satish Shah, who passed away earlier this Saturday due to kidney failure. Vivek Oberoi, Satish's co-star in 2002's Saathiya, remembered his onscreen father in a heartfelt post. Describing Satish as a person who "could light up every room just by being in it," Vivek said that the late actor was "always patient, protective and ready with a joke to ease" his nerves during the production of his film debut. "He made Indravadan Sarabhai a character the entire country loved and those who knew him will remember him for his kindness and grace," wrote Vivek referring to Satish's iconic role in the sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. "Godspeed, sir. You will be deeply missed, and forever loved," Vivek concluded his post.

On the other hand, Anupam Kher struggled to control his emotions as he appeared on video to honour Satish following the passing of Asrani and Piyush Pandey. "What is happening? Such good people passed away in the last three-four days," started Anupam Kher. The actor added that he would addresses the late comic legend as "Satish Mere Shah!" whenever he called the latter. Describing Satish as a "very dear friend" who would always smile and make others laugh, Anupam Kher expressed his shock at the latter's passing. He then remembered the films he starred alongside Satish, notably Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!

Anupam Kher also highlighted Satish's general knowledge, especially his ability to talk authoritatively about any topic. "You do not deserve to go all of a sudden" Anupam said as his emotions start to get the better of him.

Meanwhile, Mukesh Rishi, Satish's co-star in films such as Judwaa and Baazi, called the latter "an exceptional person and actor" in a conversation with ANI. "He has always greeted everyone with a smiling face. He was always happy... I am very sad by his passing... He had done some amazing movies," Mukesh said about his co-star.

Satish also attended the Film and Television Institute of India. The institute wrote, "We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Satish Shah, celebrated actor, revered mentor, and distinguished FTII alumnus, who also served as a member of FTII’s Governing Council and FTII Society."

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who broke the news through social media, called Satish's passing "a great loss to the industry".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, too, condoled with the actor's friends and family members. "Deeply saddened by the passing of Shri Satish Shah Ji. He will be remembered as a true legend of Indian entertainment. His effortless humour and iconic performances brought laughter into countless lives," wrote the PM.

Filmmakers Karan Johar and Farah Khan, who directed Satish in Main Hoon Na, also expressed their sadness at the actor's passing.
