Singer-music composer Sachin Sanghvi of the popular musician duo, Sachin-Jigar, was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman after a complaint was filed by her. He was later released on bail.
As per a PTI report, the complainant, in her 20s, claimed she came in contact with Sachin in February 2024, and he had sent her a message on Instagram. The singer-composer allegedly promised her a chance in his music album, and they exchanged phone numbers.
The woman has alleged that Sachin called her to his studio, where he proposed marriage, and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions, a police official told the publication.
Sachin was taken into custody after the complaint and was later released on bail.
Sachin’s lawyer, Aditya Mithe, issued a statement and said, “The allegations in the FIR against my client are absolutely baseless and unsubstantiated. There are absolutely no merits to the case. My client’s detention by the police was illegal and that is the reason why he was released on bail immediately. We intended to defend all allegations fully and unequivocally."
The musician duo Sachin-Jigar are known for composing songs for films like Stree 2, Bhediya, Param Sundari and Thamma, among others.
