Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic-drama, Param Sundari had its OTT premiere. The film is currently available to stream on Prime Video. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the film also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Renji Panicker, Manjot Singh and has a special appearance by Abhishek Banerjee.
The streaming platform made the announcement of the film’s OTT premiere by sharing stills of Sidharth and Janhvi from the film. They wrote in caption, “Param, Sundari ke pyaar mein aur hum Param Sundari ke pyaar mein (Param in love with Sundari while we are in love with Param Sundari).”
Param Sundari tells the story of Param, a North Indian guy, who falls in love with Sundari, a South Indian girl. Their cross-cultural romance unfolds through humorous misadventures, cultural clashes, and heartwarming moments. As per Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 51.28 crore at the box office in its four-week run.
It is produced by Dinesh Vijan and was released in theatres on August 29 earlier this year.
CE’s review of the film reads, “Param Sundari is essentially a straightforward Bollywood rom-com where boy meets girl, but society won’t let them marry. It’s budget DDLJ with an ‘explore Kerala’ rather than ‘explore Europe’ agenda. For all its comical tirades of not generalising the South, the film’s visual grammar makes a Kerala hamlet look no different than a Tamil Nadu village. It’s amusing to witness a product of the Hindi film industry, historically known for stereotyping the South, trying to teach viewers the difference between a Rajinikanth and a Mohanlal. Cinema lovers in the Hindi belt have been consuming Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam films, albeit dubbed, even before the term Pan-India was coined.”
