Dhanush’s upcoming film with Kriti Sanon, Tere Ishk Mein, is generating massive anticipation ahead of its release next month. Following the teaser launch, the makers of the Aanand L Rai directorial unveiled the film’s title track, sung by Arijit Singh, which received an overwhelmingly positive response, so much that the song has already crossed an impressive 50 million views within just three days of its release across YouTube and other streaming platforms, and is winning praise for its vocals and themes.

Composed by AR Rahman and written by Irshad Kamil, 'Tere Ishk Mein' underlines the passionate love between Kriti and Dhanush. The film promises yet another moving tale of love, loss, betrayal and heartbreak, reminiscent of Raanjhanaa (2013), the director's 2013 film with Dhanush.

They’re not similar stories, but they have a similar heartbeat: Aanand L Rai on Tere Ishk Mein and Raanjhanaa

The teaser, which was released earlier this month, opened with a haldi ceremony of Kriti’s character where Dhanush’s Shankar entered as an uninvited guest. His face was beaten up, swollen. A voiceover revealed that Shankar was coming straight from Varanasi after cremating his father. “I have brought gangaajal for you, so that you can wash your sins,” he tells Kriti before emptying a bottle on her. Flashbacks hinted at a love story, between Kriti’s character and Shankar, riddled with violence and addiction.

Tere Ishk Mein marks the third collaboration between the Dhanush and Aanand, after Ranjhanaa (2013) and Atrangi Re (2021). This is the first time Kriti Sanon is joining forces, both with the actor and the director. Aanand L Rai last directed Raksha Bandhan, starring Akshay Kumar, in 2022.
