Soon, when you talk to the voice assistant in Meta AI it will reply in Deepika Padukone’s voice. The actor has become the first Indian to lend her voice to the virtual assistant, integrated into Meta’s ecosystem, including the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. Deepika has joined the likes of Hollywood celebrities like Awkwafina and Judi Dench in giving her voice to Meta.
The actor took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a video of herself in Meta’s dubbing studio. “Okay, so this is pretty cool I think! I’m now part of Meta AI and you can chat with my voice in English across India, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. Try it and let me know what you think!” she captioned the post.
Meta announced that users in India will now be able to interact with Meta AI through Deepika’s voice, available in Indian English. Alongside this, the company introduced full Hindi language support and UPI Lite payments, making the experience more localized and personal.
Recently, Deepika was also appointed as the Mental Health Ambassador by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. She has also been in the news recently after she was dropped by the makers of Kalki 2898 AD from the film’s sequel. Deepika has also been talking about the need for eight-hour workdays for those working in the industry.
On the film front, Deepika was last seen in Singham Again (2024). The actor will also be seen alongside Shah Rukh Khan in King.
