The trailer of Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet and R Madhavan’s upcoming romantic-comedy, De De Pyaar De 2 was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. The film has been directed by Anshul Sharma, written by Tarun Jain & Luv Ranjan and also stars Jaaved Jaaferi and Meezaan Jafri in pivotal roles.
The trailer opens with a young Ayesha (played by Rakul) telling her father, played by Madhavan, and mother about falling in love with an older man, Ashish (Ajay). Her parents seem to be fine with it at first until they realise that Ashish is too old for her. She doesn’t want to tell the real age of Ashish to her parents. In a scene, it is revealed that Ashish doesn’t eat daal, which irks Madhavan, who retorts, “Who doesn’t eat daal?” Jaaved plays Ajay’s friend, to whom he opens up about the entire ordeal. Later, Ashish is seen trying to be in the good books of Ayesha’s parents, ending up calling her mother, ‘Bhabhiji’ in a scene. Later, Madhavan swears that he will kill Ashish. Then, Meezaan’s character enters the picture and tries to woo Ayesha, which creates a conflict for Ashish. The film promises to be a quirky comedy with hilarious gags and self-aware, meta humor.
Sharing the trailer, the makers wrote, “In De De Pyaar De 2, love faces its toughest test yet as Ashish visits Ayesha’s family home! Will the age-gap romance win hearts or stir things up? With heart, humour and a whole lot of family madness, this Pyaar vs Parivaar clash promises a relatable, riotous ride for every kind of audience.”
The film is a sequel to De De Pyaar De, which also starred Tabu, Jimmy Shergill and Alok Nath in pivotal roles.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, De De Pyaar De 2 is set to be released in theatres on November 14.
