Amitabh Bachchan is set to have a voiceover in Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film, 120 Bahadur. The megastar confirmed to give his voice for the intro sequence of the war-drama film during a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati.

In the promo of the episode, Farhan and his father Javed Akhtar are seen joining Bachchan on the hot seat for a special episode celebrating the legendary actor’s birthday. They are seen reminiscing about their long association and sharing memorable anecdotes. Bachchan then asks Farhan about 120 Bahadur. Farhan opens up about the Battle of Rezang La and the brave soldiers who fought against 3,000 Chinese forces. Later, Farhan is seen requesting Bachchan for a favour, to narrate the opening sequence of their film. Farhan says, “Our film begins with a narrator’s voice that explains what exactly happened during Rezang La. If you could please be the narrator for our opening, it would be an honour.” The megastar agrees.

120 Bahadur is based on the Battle of Rezang La, which occurred during the 1962 war, where 120 Indian soldiers fought against thousands of Chinese troops. Speaking about the film earlier, director Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai said that they collaborated with the action team that worked on the Oscar-winner, All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) to design the action sequences in the film. “The actors portraying the soldiers of Charlie Company in 120 Bahadur are absolutely fantastic. Most of them are first-timers; they’ve never done a film before. I made them go through a very grueling process,” he said.

Razy also said that he drew from his own upbringing to ensure that the film captured the spirit and discipline of the Indian Armed Forces with precision. “Being an army kid myself, I understand the basics of army life — the discipline, the detailing, the mannerisms. We have ensured all of that is reflected authentically on screen. I think all the actors have done a phenomenal job, and it’s something the world will see very soon,” he added.

Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment), and Amit Chandrra (Trigger Happy Studios), 120 Bahadur releases in cinemas on November 21.
