Aryan Khan’s debut directorial series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood has been well-received by people all over ever since it came out on Netflix on September 18. Some of its scenes have been clipped by audiences that went viral on social media as the show continues to retain the top spot on the streamer.

Aryan serves as the creator and director on the show. He recently opened up about audience’s reception to the show and evoked a dialogue from a character in the show, Jaraj, played by Rajat Bedi. “Whenever things got difficult, I’d hear Jaraj’s voice in my head, “Haarne mein aur haar maanne mein bohot farak hota hai (There is a difference in losing and giving up)”. At first, I thought it was motivation, but soon realised it was just lack of sleep and fatigue. Still, that vision kept me going, and now to see the happiness my work has brought people is deeply emotional for me.. it is why I do what I do, it is what drew me to storytelling,” he said.

He added, “The love from around the world has been incredible, with the show trending across countries and filling timelines with reels, memes, and fan theories. What began as my story now truly belongs to the audience, and it’s only because of Netflix that this story could reach homes across the globe. As Jaraj would humbly say…Ab pehechana (Now you have recognised me)?”

Co-created and co-written by Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, the show stars Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Raghav Juyal, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Anya Singh, Vijayant Kohli, Gautami Kapoor, and Rajat Bedi in pivotal roles and also features cameos by Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Rajkummar Rao, Arjun Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, SS Rajamouli and Ranveer Singh, among others.

It is produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment with Bonnie Jain and Akshat Verma serving as executive producers.
