The first reviews of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic-comedy, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari are out and netizens have called the film a feel-good entertainer while some have expressed their strong reactions calling the script ‘lazy’ and the comedy ‘cringe’. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari also stars Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles.

One user wrote, “A colourful, vibrant entertainer that thrives on drama, emotions, and humour… A family film that delivers laughs and entertainment in the right doses.”

In another positive review, one person said, “I just watched a Blockbuster Movie #SunnySanskariKiTulsiKumari What a Amazing Movie. Loved it. Thank you @varundvn @sanyamalhotra07 @rohitssaraf for giving such a wonderful movie.”

In a strongly worded review, one user wrote, “Varun Dhawan struggles to save this limp rom-com with a lazy script and cringe comedy. Janhvi Kapoor is lost, and the whole movie drags like a never-ending snail race. Comedy falls flat, climax is rushed and nonsensical. Just 2/5 for effort, 1.5/5 for story, and 2/5 for entertainment. Skip this loud, pointless nonsense unless you want to waste your time & money.”

One more user said, “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is a stress-buster with its light-hearted humor, catchy songs, and stunning visuals! Watch it and smile!”

Another user gave a negative reaction and wrote, “The problem with #SunnySanskariKiTulsiKumari is not just nepotism, it’s also lack of originality in content. I mean you can feel that they only pay attention to costumes, sets & dance sequences and nothing else.”

Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan, the film has released alongside Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1 at the box office. Speaking about the clash earlier in an interview with PTI, Varun said, “Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra is a very big date, two films can really do big business, and they are very different films. I don't know what is the best time (to release a film), I would love to come on a date where no film comes on.”
