The teaser of Fukrey duo Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma’s upcoming comedy Rahu Ketu was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. Written and directed by Vipul Vig, the film also features Piyush Mishra, Shalini Pandey, Chunky Panday, Amit Sial and Manurishi Chaddha.
The teaser gives us a glimpse of the lives of Pulkit and Varun’s characters, who bring bad luck to everything they touch. If they compliment a house, it surely will come crumbling down. They soon realise that they are modern-day versions of mythical beings Rahu and Ketu and what ensues is confusion and comedy.
Talking about the film, Varun said, “The moment I heard Rahu Ketu, I knew this was going to be unlike anything we’ve ever done- and what an experience it’s been.”
Pulkit added, “It is wildly original, full of cosmic madness, and driven with so much heart. Watching Vipul Vig step into the director’s chair with such clarity and conviction has been inspiring.”
Writer-director Vipul also said, “Astrology has always fascinated me, and reimagining it through humour and heart was something I was eager to explore. Having written the Fukrey films, working with Varun and Pulkit again — this time as a director — felt both familiar and thrilling.”
Presented by Zee Studios and produced by Zee Studios and BLive Productions, Rahu Ketu is set to release in theatres on January 16.
