Earlier today, reports came out stating that veteran actor Dharmendra has been admitted into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is on ventilator support. However, now a new update by The Indian Express states that sources close to actor and Dharmendra’s son Sunny Deol have refuted these reports.
“The whole ventilator news is fake. Dharmendra has been hospitalised for a week but he is not on a ventilator. Sunny Deol visited Dharmendra in the morning at the hospital and he is back now. If something like this would have happened, his entire family would have been in the hospital,” stated the source.
Dharmendra, who will turn 90 in December, has been hospitalised for a week in Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital. He was hospitalised on October 31 for a routine check-up and has been in the hospital since then. His team had stated at the time, “There is absolutely no cause for concern. The actor is in good health and visits the hospital often for routine medical tests, which is the reason for his current stay. It seems that someone spotted him there, which has led to a frenzy among his fans, but there is nothing to worry about as he is absolutely fine.” However, reports have claimed that the veteran actor was taken to the hospital after complaining of breathlessness.
On the work front, Dharmendra will next be seen in Sriram Raghavan’s directorial Ikkis, where he stars with Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia. Ikkis is inspired by the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra at just 21.
