Paresh Rawal returns his signing amount for Hera Pheri 3 with 15% interest: Report

After deciding to opt out of Hera Pheri 3, Paresh Rawal has now returned his signing amount with 15 % interest, as per a report in Bollywood Hungama. This comes after Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films, sent a legal notice to Paresh for exiting the film after an initial confirmation.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Paresh Rawal has returned the signing amount of ₹11 lakhs with 15% p.a. interest and also a little more money for stepping away from the series. Paresh Rawal was paid ₹11 lakhs as a signing amount as per the term sheet. His total fees were locked at ₹15 crores.”

The report also claimed that there was a clause in the agreement which said that the actor would get the rest of his fees only after the film’s release, which would have been in 2027. “The senior actor had reservations about this clause. Also, the film’s principal shoot was to commence sometime next year. This means that Hera Pheri 3 was unlikely to be released before late 2026 or in the year 2027. In short, Paresh would have had to wait for nearly two years to get the rest of his acting fees,” said the report.

Recently, Akshay’s legal representative told PTI that there will be legal consequences for what Paresh did. “It's of course hurt the franchise. We have written to him letting him know that there are a lot of legal consequences involved. There have been expenses incurred towards the cast, towards the crew, towards leading senior actors, logistics equipment, and shooting of the trailer,” she said.

Last week, Paresh took to social media to confirm that he has exited the third part in the franchise, sending shockwaves across the industry. His Hera Pheri 3 co-star Suniel Shetty also expressed surprise over Paresh’s decision, saying that the film cannot take place without him.

Since then, there has not been any official statement made by Paresh in this regard.
