After postponing her Cannes Film Festival debut amidst India-Pakistan tensions, Alia Bhatt is finally on her way to France to attend the World Cinema Gala.
The actor took to her Instagram stories to share a picture of the inside of her suitcase, which has a pouch which reads “I’m Worth It”, the famous tagline of the L’Oreal Paris brand. The text on the bottom of the story reads, "Off we go @lorealparis.”
According to videos circulating on social media, Alia was also seen at the airport, leaving for Cannes, wearing a beige blazer, white top and a pair of denims. She completed her look with a pair of sunglasses.
Previously, Alia had postponed her maiden visit to Cannes this year post-Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. An India Today report had quoted a source saying, “Alia took this decision considering the tension at the borders. The Raazi actor did not feel it was right to go to Cannes at such a crucial time.”
“However, that’s not to say that she won’t. Alia’s team is closely following the situation at the border, and if things remain calm, she might look at another date to attend,” they added.
Alia had also taken to Instagram to open up about her anxieties amidst the tension between the two neighbouring countries. In an Instagram post she had written, “The last few nights have felt… different. There’s a certain stillness in the air when a nation holds its breath.”
On the work front, Alia is gearing up for Alpha, her entry into YRF’s spy universe, alongside Sharvari. She also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War in the pipeline, which also stars her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal.
