New, monochrome photos of Shah Rukh Khan from his theatre days have surfaced on social media. In the early 90s, the actor had moved from Delhi to Mumbai to start his career in Hindi films, before that, SRK was quite active in Delhi’s theatre scene.
The photos--shared on Instagram by actor Amar Talwar--are from a trip Shah Rukh and his theatre friends took from Delhi to Kolkata 35 years ago. In the photos, Shah Rukh can be seen standing near the door of the train and posing goofily with his friends--actors Divya Seth, Rituraj Singh and Deepika Amin, among others.
Amar captioned the post, "More from that train ride 35 years ago ...Delhi to Kolkata...Divya and Dipika and Shahrukh and Sanjoy and Deepak and Rituraj and Benny and Mohit and I behind the camera and where the hell was Barry?"
Shah Rukh trained under acclaimed theatre teacher Barry John before getting into the movies. His acting career began in 1988 with the TV show Fauji. He later acted in shows such as Circus and Idiot. SRK debuted with Deewana in 1992. He gained popularity with roles in films like Baazigar (1993) and Darr (1993).
SRK was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki (2023). He will be getting back into action with King, which will also feature his daughter Suhana Khan.
