Salman Khan’s Sikandar has managed to earn Rs 26 crore at the box-office on Day 1, as per Sacnilk. It is among the lowest openers for Salman, whose earlier films did better business on the first day. Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi and Kajal Aggarwal in pivotal roles.
The film had an occupancy of 21.60 per cent on Sunday, with morning shows amounting for the lowest at 13.76 per cent. It minutely picked up over the afternoon, with evening shows having 25.08 percent occupancy which dropped a bit for the night shows. As per a press release, the makers claimed that the film did a business of Rs 54 crore globally. However, details of the film’s worldwide collection are not out yet.
Barring Salman’s Radhe (2021), which opened at Rs 4.75 crore, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (2023), which minted Rs 13.5 crores and Dabangg 2, which collected Rs 21.10 crore, all of his films have fared much better on Day 1. Even his last film, Tiger 3, which released in theatres on Diwali, did a business of Rs 44.5 crore on the first day.

CE’s review of the film reads, “Sikandar seems to want to explore the softer side of the superstar, and here’s where it errs because Salman can’t emote to save his life. The film also jettisons the usual hoot-catcher Salmanisms. There are no meta-references to the actor’s off-screen persona; we don’t even get a heavily VFXed shot of the star baring his torso. The die-hard Salman fan might feel cheated. The effort in his action sequences is at times even less than what he puts into his dance numbers—both of which are negligible to begin with.”
