The teaser of Emraan Hashmi's headliner army-actioner Ground Zero was unveiled by the makers on Friday. Directed by Tejas Deoskar, known for helming the 2018 Madhuri Dixit starrer Marathi film, Bucket List, Ground Zero is backed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.

The teaser opens with a warning from a spokesperson of the terror group Jaish-E-Mohammad: “The Prime Minister of India should listen to this. Freedom of Kashmir is our motive.” It is then shown that an attack has been done on the soldiers of the Indian Army, leaving 70 of them dead. Emraan Hashmi plays an army commandant who vows revenge: “Ab pehredaari nahi prahaar hoga (Now it will not be patrolling but attack).” The teaser, however, ends on an introspective note where Emraan’s character says in a voiceover, “Is only Kashmir’s land ours or also its people?”

As per reports, in the film Emraan is portraying the role of BSF Deputy Commandant Narendra Nath Dubey, who spearheaded a critical two-year investigation into a national security threat following the 2001 Parliament attack. This operation ultimately led to the identification and elimination of the terrorist mastermind Ghazi Baba in 2003.

Ground Zero will release in theatres on April 25.
