Salman Khan’s upcoming actioner Sikandar has received U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The makers have additionally decided to trim the film by 14 minutes. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggrawal and Sharman Joshi in pivotal roles.
As per Bollywood Hungama, the film had earlier received the certificate on March 21 with a runtime of over 150 minutes. However, the makers trimmed certain portions and approached the CBFC again to issue the certificate for the newer version of the film with the voluntary cuts.
Trimming has taken place in over 26 scenes with four of these being over a minute long. A scene having the dialogue, ‘Offer aukat ke bahar tha’ has been trimmed. Other than that, a four minute scene, a 2 minute 26 seconds scene and a 1 minute 12 second long scene were deleted completely from the film.
One more scene featuring Salman’s character singing the song, ‘Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh’ was trimmed by 11 seconds and another sequence with a dialogue, ‘Aate rahenge ab toh’ was fully cut. Some Holi shots and dialogues were reduced by over 40 seconds.
After all the changes, the film’s final runtime stands at 135.47 minutes. The CBFC approved of the changes on March 24.
