At the trailer launch of Salman Khan’s upcoming film Sikandar on Sunday, the actor commented on the 31-year age gap between him and his co-star Rashmika Mandanna and said that if she doesn’t have a problem with it, why do other people do. He also went on to say that in the future if Rashmika has a daughter he will work with her also.
"They say there is a 31-year difference between the heroine and me,” said Salman during a discussion after Sikandar’s trailer was shown to the media. “If the heroine and her father don't have any problem, then why do you have a problem? When she (Rashmika) gets married and has a daughter, and when she becomes a big star, then we will also work together.”
“We will definitely get the mother’s (Rashmika’s) permission..." he joked.
Salman also praised Rashmika’s work ethic. He said that the actor was juggling two major projects simultaneously – Pushpa 2 and Sikandar. “Rashmika was shooting for Pushpa 2 till 7 pm. She would come to Sikandar set at 9 pm and shoot with us till 6:30 am, and then go back to Pushpa. She was not well also. After breaking her leg, she continued to shoot, didn’t cancel a day. In many ways, she reminds me of a younger me,” he said.
Apart from Salman and Rashmika, Sikandar also stars Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi and Kajal Aggarwal. The film, directed by AR Murugadoss, will hit theatres on March 30.
