Viineet Kumar Siingh clarified about his earlier remarks on Alia Bhatt wherein he had said that when Alia was a kid, he was still struggling and even now, when she is grown up to do experimental roles, he is still struggling to find work. The actor said that half of his life is gone trying to figure out the next month’s bills.
During a chat on The Raunac Podcast, Viineet said, “My intention behind saying all of that was, I still don’t have a house. Alia, since the time she started and even now, look at the number of experiments she has done. Look at Highway, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Udta Punjab, so many films and look at her range. I am trying to say that when an actor gets an opportunity at the right time, then they get a chance to experiment upon themselves and they can shine. Half your life is gone trying to pay the next month’s bills. I want that freedom where if I want to work on myself for 6 months, then I should be able to do that.”
He said that he mentioned Alia because he likes her work. The actor also recalled the time when Ranbir Kapoor called him after watching Anurag Kashyap’s Ugly in 2013. “Ranbir had called me back in 2013 when he watched Ugly. I didn’t even have his number but he called me. I thought someone was pulling my leg,” Viineet said.
He added, “You only talk about those who are on your mind, and whose work you appreciate, it’s only natural. Now if there is someone living on Mars whose name is Honolulu, I won’t know that because I have never seen that or thought about that. I like their work.”
Viineet was last seen in Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava which released in theatres on February 14.
