Prime Video has announced the second season of the Karan Johar-hosted reality show, The Traitors. The first season of the show aired on the streaming platform on June 22, with new episodes dropping every Thursday.

Prime Video has collaborated with All3Media International for the local adaptation of the popular international show. It is produced by BBC Studios India Productions and features twenty celebrities as they try to deceive each other in a battle of will and wit.

Speaking about the renewal, Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video, India, said in a press release, “With its distinctive mix of tension, strategy and emotional honesty, brought to life by our versatile host, Karan Johar and a stellar line up of players who have brought their A-game to the show, the series has emerged as a true breakout. As we continue to shape a bold and diverse unscripted slate at Prime Video, The Traitors stands out as a marquee title that pushes the boundaries of the reality genre. we’re thrilled to begin work on Season Two and take the experience to the next level.”

The Traitors (Dutch title: De Verraders) was created and developed by Marc Pos and IDTV Creative Director Jasper Hoogendoorn in cooperation with RTL Creative Unit. It was recently named as K7’s format of the year in 2024 and the format was awarded C21’s International Format Award for Best Host of a Television Format. Previously, the Dutch version De Verraders received the Rose d'Or award for best Reality and Factual Entertainment.
