Diljit Dosanjh is currently facing the ire online for starring alongside Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in his upcoming film, Sardaarji 3. While the actor-singer has not directly made any comments in the matter, he was interviewed recently by Grammy Awards President where he shared his views about art and music.

He said in the interview, “Countries are at war, and we don’t have control over these things. But I believe music is something that unites nations. I feel blessed to be part of something that spreads love across nations. I think we need to look beyond nations and focus on Mother Earth. All these borders are part of the same Mother Earth, and I belong to her.”

He further quoted a line, saying, “‘Hum aadmi hain ek daami’, meaning ‘We humans are here only for a brief moment.’ We are here for a limited time; we should not waste our time fighting with each other. Politics is a different space; I don’t want to make blunders by speaking out of turn. But for me, every second is precious, and I want to live it to the fullest.”

After the recent Pahalgam terror attack, India reinforced a ban on Pakistani artists and content, including OTT and social media. Following this, the social media accounts of Pakistani artists were inaccessible in India.

Diljit’s film, Sardaarji 3 will not be releasing in India as it was scheduled earlier to hit the screens on June 27. It will only have an international release. The film's trailer was shared by Diljit on social media where he is seen romancing Hania.

Meanwhile, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has called for a ban on Diljit and the producers of the film in India. BN Tiwari, the president of FWICE, told India Today, “None of their films and projects would be allowed to be released in India."

Diljit was recently seen in the ZEE5 murder-mystery, Detective Sherdil.
