Amitabh Bachchan has reacted to the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad that has left over 270 people dead and said that he is filled with immense remorse. The veteran actor said that there should be a ‘transparent investigation’ in the matter for meaningful action.

Taking to his personal blog, Amitabh wrote, “Most pained and filled with immense remorse on the Air India crash. Empathy and support for the lives lost of our people, and across all nations and communities. May grief transform into solidarity in honouring lost lives.”

He added, “Through transparent investigation, let there be sustained remembrance and resilience for meaningful action and prompt lessons and for the healing of all.”

Bachchan also talked of another instance of the loss of a loved one. “A most dear friend lost her son, young energetic. And so sudden. The pain and the grief for our friend and us is unimaginable. And so difficult to have the belief that it has occurred,” he said.

Earlier, others from the film industry reacted to the incident, including, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Ajay Devgn among others.

On Thursday, the Air India plane, AI 171, carrying 242 passengers crashed shortly after take off near Ahmedabad airport.
