
1) Jaat (Netflix): Sunny Deol’s return after the blockbuster success of Gadar 2 sees him play the sturdy Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh as he takes on the menacing labourer-turned-crime lord, Ranatunga (Randeep Hooda). The film had a steady run in theatres when it released on April 10 earlier this year. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, it also stars Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, P. Ravi Shankar and Babloo Prithiveeraj in pivotal roles. The film started streaming today (June 5).
2) Stolen (Prime Video): In this explosive debut by director Karan Tejpal, Abhishek Banerjee and Shubham Vardhan play brothers from the city who are witness to a kidnapping of a baby from an impoverished mother at a railway station in the rural hinterlands. Guided by their moral duty to help the mother, the brothers go on a risky investigation to find the baby as circumstances take a dark, violent turn. With industry stalwarts like Anurag Kashyap, Kiran Rao, Nikkhil Advani and Vikramaditya Motwane serving as executive producers, the film released on Prime Video on June 4.
3) Chhal Kapat – The Deception (June 6, ZEE5): Shriya Pilgaonkar headlines this investigative thriller-series. She plays a sharp, cynical cop, Devika Rathod, taking on a case of a social media influencer found dead at a wedding. As Devika investigates, new secrets uncover putting everyone in the family under the radar. Directed by Ajay Bhuyan, the show also stars Kamya Ahlawat, Ragini Dwivedi, Tuhina Das, Yahhve Sharma, Pranay Pachauri, Smaran Sahu, Anuj Sachdeva and Keshav Lokwani in pivotal roles.
4) Bhool Chuk Maaf (June 6, Prime Video): After much delay in its theatrical release and a brief legal battle, Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s time-loop romantic-drama arrives on OTT this week after a small two-week run in theatres. The film revolves around a soon-to-be-married man who realises that he is stuck in a time loop and keeps reliving the Haldi day before his wedding. Written and directed by Karan Sharma, Bhool Chuk Maaf also stars Sanjay Mishra, Seema Pahwa, Zakir Hussain, Raghubir Yadav, Ishtiyak Khan and Anubha Fatehpuria in pivotal roles.
