Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa have announced that they are expecting their first child together. They took to social media to share the news.
Taking to Instagram, the couple shared a poster with the painting of a baby cradle made with lively colors. A text on the poster read, “Baby on the way” and they wrote “Elated” in the caption.
The comment section of the post was filled with congratulatory messages from celebrities. Filmmaker Farah Khan made a cheeky comment saying, “Finally the news is out!! I was having a tough time keeping it to myself. Congratulations.” Bhumi Pednekar, Kiara Advani and Huma Qureshi put out multiple heart emojis while Pulkit Samrat wrote, “Wowwwww!! Congratulations doston!!”
Rajkummar and Patralekhaa got married in 2021 after being in a relationship for over a decade. Announcing their marriage, the couple had written on social media, “Finally after 11 years of love, romance, friendship and fun, I got married to my everything today, my soulmate, my best friend, my family. Today there is no greater happiness for me than being called your husband Patralekhaa. Here’s to forever and beyond.”
The two have worked together on the film Citylights (2014) and the web-series, Bose: Dead/Alive (2017). Earlier this year in January, they launched their production company, KAMPA films.
Rajkummar was recently seen in the time-loop comedy-drama, Bhool Chuk Maaf, along with Wamiqa Gabbi. He will be seen next in Maalik, which is set to be released in theatres on July 11 and also stars Manushi Chhillar and Prosenjit Chatterjee. He also has the Saurav Ganguly biopic in the pipeline along with another slice-of-life film with Shoojit Sircar.
Meanwhile, Patralekhaa starred alongside Pratik Gandhi in the biographical-drama, Phule recently, where she played the role of social reformer Savitribai Phule.
