Filmmaker Hansal Mehta has launched his own production company, True Story Films, with producer Sahil Saigal, as reported by The Variety. It includes investments from producers Vinod Bhanushali and Parag Sanghvi.
Taking to Instagram, Hansal shared a screenshot of the Variety report and wrote, “When your dream becomes a true story. Formally Presenting True Story Films.”
Vinod shared a photo with the collaborators on X and wrote, “Excited to start a new journey with ones who share the same passion for storytelling at True Story Films! Here's to creating impactful films & series that connect with audiences everywhere.”
The company will back theatrical films and streaming content in multiple genres, aiming to start production this year with the first release planned for 2026. It is valued at Rs 500 crore.
Hansal is known for helming critically acclaimed films like Shahid (2012), Aligarh (2015), Faraaz (2022), and the web series Scam 1992, among others. His last film as a director was the Kareena Kapoor starrer The Buckingham Murders.
