Murlikant Petkar receives Arjuna Award, thanks Sajid Nadiadwala for telling his story in Chandu Champion

Petkar is India’s first paralympic gold medalist and Kartik Aaryan essayed his role in the film directed by Kabir Khan

India’s first paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar received Arjuna Award (Lifetime) for his achievements recently. He thanked producer Sajid Nadiadwala for telling his story through the film Chandu Champion, starring Kartik Aaryan and directed by Kabir Khan.

On receiving this prestigious achievement Petkar said, “I am truly overwhelmed and deeply grateful to receive the prestigious Arjuna lifetime Award. This recognition is not just a personal achievement, but a testament to the collective effort and belief of many incredible individuals. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Sajid Nadiadwala ji for not only believing in my story but also investing his trust and resources to bring my story to life on screen through the film Chandu Champion. His unwavering support has made all the difference.”

He added “I would also like to mention Kabir Khan’s efforts for his direction of my journey to the big screen in the most authentic way. And to Kartik, whose portrayal of my story was nothing short of perfect. This moment is as much theirs as it is mine, I am truly grateful to the entire team of Chandu Champion to make this film and inspire so many people in the country with my story.”

An all-rounder in sports, Petkar competed in multiple disciplines before excelling in para-swimming. He was recently also honored with the Padma Shri award for his contributions.
