
In the fashion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), production house Maddock Films has announced its “Horror-Comedy Superhero Universe” slate till the year 2028. It includes expected sequels like Stree 3, Bhediya 2 and Maha Munjya but there are also new IPs like Shakti Shalini and Chamunda in the pipeline. All the characters and universes will culminate into two releases in 2028: Pehla Mahayudh and Doosara Mahayudh.
For this year, Diwali will see the release of Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal starrer vampire-comedy Thama. Shakti Shalini is scheduled to release on December 31 but more details on it are still under wraps. Come 2026, Bhediya 2 will hit theatres on August 14, while Chamunda will premiere on December 4. 2027 will see the threequel of Stree releasing on the big screen on August 13, and Maha Munjya, a sequel to the Abhay Verma and Sharvari starrer Munjya, will be released on December 24.
All characters of the films will come together for Pehla Mahayudh on August 11 and Doosara Mahayudh on October 18.
Maddock Films’ Horror-Comedy Superhero Universe started in 2018 with Stree. It was followed by Bhediya and Munjya in 2022 and 2024, respectively.
