Anil Kapoor recently paid tribute to Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman, who was found dead at the age of 95 at his Santa Fe home in New Mexico on Wednesday.

Anil took to his X account to share pictures of the late actor and wrote, "Cannot believe the world no longer has Gene Hackman in it... His effortless performances in films like The French Connection, Unforgiven and The Firm are just a few times the world witnessed his genius. A true legend whose legacy will live on. Rest in peace.”

Gene, along with his wife Betsy Arakawa and one of their three dogs, was found dead in their New Mexico home. As per a BBC report, authorities reported no signs of injury but deemed the deaths "suspicious enough" to investigate and have not ruled out foul play. No cause of death was given.

The actor was known for winning two Academy Awards, one for The French Connection (1971) and the other for Unforgiven (1992). He also gave notable performances in films like Mississippi Burning (1988) and The Conversation (1974), among others.
