The teaser for Salman Khan’s upcoming actioner Sikandar was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. Written and directed by AR Murugadoss, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles.
The teaser opens with Salman’s voiceover as he recalls how his grandmother named him ‘Sikandar’, his grandfather called him Sanjay and people called him ‘Raja Saab’. There are visuals of a bomb blowing off and then another character is heard asking Salman’s character if he will give justice to people. “Insaaf nahi, saaf karne aaya hun (Not justice, I am here to clean up the city)”, he says. There are multiple visuals of him beating goons in hyperbolic action sequences. Sathyaraj seems to be playing an influential politician. Rashmika features briefly in the teaser, playing Sikandar's love interest, remarking how he is popular among his enemies. It also features some power-packed dialogues, which are said in style by Salman.
Sikandar features music composed by Pritam and lyrics by Sameer. It has been shot by S Thirunavukkarasu and edited by Vivek Harshan.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film will be released in theatres on Eid this year.
