

Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava has crossed the Rs 500 mark at the global box office, as per Sacnilk.com. It has become the first blockbuster of 2025 with a worldwide gross of Rs 540 crore. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.
In India, the film has managed to earn Rs 386.25 crore in 13 days since its release on February 14 and will soon enter the Rs 400 crore club. It opened at the box office at Rs 31 crore and went on to make Rs 219 crore in the first week. The film saw a jump during its second weekend, making Rs 44 crore on Saturday and Rs 40 crore on Sunday. The historical drama has become Vicky's highest grosser.
Chhaava saw a jump in its collections on February 26 on the occasion of Mahashivratri, minting Rs 23 crore, a significant rise from its collection on Tuesday, which stood at Rs 18.5 crore. Mumbai and Pune have been witnessing maximum occupancy of 50.50% and 58.75%, respectively.
Vicky plays the role of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in the film, while Akshaye plays the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. After its success, the film will be released in Telugu once again on March 7.
