The trailer of Neena Gupta’s upcoming film Dil Dosti Aur Dogs was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. Directed by Viral Shah, the film also stars Masumeh Makhija, Sharad Kelkar, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Keerti Kelkar, Tinu Anand, Ehan Bhat, and Tridha Chaudhary in pivotal roles.
The trailer introduces the characters, where a couple talks to their therapist about issues in their relationship. In order to bust the stress, they get a dog. Then there’s a father who struggles to find a rapport with his daughter. Another character uses dogs to boost their business, causing problems with his partner, who finds it a selfish move. The film explores the bond between humans and dogs in the scenic beauty of Goa.
Speaking about it, Neena said, “Playing this character was a deeply emotional experience for me. She’s a woman who has suppressed her passion and distanced herself from the world, but through an unexpected companion, she learns that life still has so much to offer. It’s a beautiful journey of rediscovery, and I connected with it on a personal level. Working with Viral Shah was an absolute delight as he has such a clear vision and yet allows us the creative space to truly own our characters.”
Director Viral shared, “Making the film has been a joy ride. I’ve always believed that pets have a special way of healing us, and I wanted to bring that essence to the screen. I’m blessed to have had the opportunity to work with each of my actors, who have given the film and their characters their all.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande, the film is set to be released on JioHotstar on February 28.
