John Abraham’s The Diplomat gets new release date

John Abraham’s upcoming political thriller, The Diplomat, will be released now on March 14, the makers announced on Tuesday. It was earlier set to hit the theatres on March 7 but has been delayed by a week now. Directed by Shivam Nair, the film also stars Sharib Hashmi, Kumud Mishra, Sadia Khateeb, and Revathy in pivotal roles.

Sharing posters of the film with the new release date, the makers wrote in the caption, “The wait gets longer, but his impact only grows stronger. The Diplomat now arrives on 14th March.”

The Diplomat is based on true events, and John essays the role of real-life Indian diplomat J P Singh, who is on a mission to rescue Uzma Ahmed (Sadia), an Indian citizen from an abusive marriage in Pakistan. Revathy plays former Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, who was involved in bringing back Uzma to India.

The film’s music is composed by Manan Bhardwaj with lyrics by Manoj Muntashir. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, John Abraham, Krishan Kumar, Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl, Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma, and Rakesh Dang.
