B Praak has changed his stance on YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and said that he should be forgiven. Earlier, the singer had come out strongly against the YouTuber for his distasteful comments made on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. He had also cancelled his appearance on Ranveer’s podcast following the incident. However, there were speculations online if he was really invited to be part of the podcast.
Speaking about it to The Hindustan Times, Praak said, “I liked watching his podcasts and I really wanted to go on his show. Our teams had been discussing the dates for six-seven months. Sometimes, he would be busy and travelling, and sometimes I would be.”
He added, “What he said was wrong but if somebody is asking for forgiveness, he should be forgiven. Some things are definitely wrong but we forget about them. But nobody should get hurt because of it. If you forgive someone, you become the bigger person.”
In an earlier video which he shared on Instagram, Praak had said, “I was supposed to appear on a podcast, on BeerBiceps, and we cancelled that. Why? Since we are all seeing how pathetic his thinking is. The choice of words that he has used on Samay Raina’s show.” The singer had also criticised Ranveer for giving platform to such comments when he talks about spirituality on his podcast. “You promote Sanatan Dharma and host so many influential people, still your thinking is so pathetic,” he said.
The controversy erupted when Ranveer appeared as a judge on Samay’s show and its video was uploaded on YouTube recently. During a conversation with one of the participants, Ranveer asked an inappropriate question, “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life. Or would you join in once and stop it forever?”. This ignited severe criticism from people online with multiple complaints being filed against the makers of the show.
