A new motion poster for the John Abraham headliner spy-thriller film The Diplomat was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. The film’s teaser was earlier released and the trailer is scheduled to be unveiled on February 14.
The poster shows Sadia Khateeb as Uzma Ahmed, a Muslim woman in trouble and a suited John Abraham as JP Singh, an Indian diplomat. The film also features Revathy, Kumud Mishra and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles.
The film is supposedly based on the Uzma Ahmed case in which an Indian woman was forced to marry a man in gunpoint in Pakistan and how she was helped by the Indian High Commission there to return home. John plays real-life diplomat JP Singh in the film.
The Diplomat is directed by Shivam Nair who also helmed another spy-thriller Naam Shabana (2017). It is written by acclaimed screenwriter Ritesh Shah and is slated to release in theatres on March 7.
