Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi's cult classic comedy film Andaz Apna Apna is set to hit theatres again in April, coinciding with its 31st release anniversary. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh broke the news through an X post, saying the film "has been restored and remastered in 4K and Dolby 5.1 Sound" and "will be re-released across India by Cinepolis."

The film stars Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, and Shakti Kapoor, among others. The oddball comedy follows two youngsters, Amar and Prem (Aamir and Salman), who travel to Ooty to marry millionaire Ram Gopal Bajaj's (Paresh Rawal) daughter Raveena Bajaj (Raveena Tandon) and thereby get a piece of his wealth. However, a series of goofy situations see them facing off not only each other but also Ram's twin brother Shyam Gopal Bajaj/Teja (Paresh Rawal) who is also seeking his sibling's fortune, albeit with a sinister intention.

Andaz Apna Apna also stars Juhi Chawla and Govinda as their real selves. The film is best remembered for its hilarious situational comedy, including exchanges between Teja and his sidekicks Robert (Viju Khote) and Bhalla (Shehzad Khan) as well as Amar and Prem and Crime Master Gogo (Shakti Kapoor). Besides the performances from the entire cast, the film's songs by Tushar Bhatia are also remembered fondly, including the wonderfully choreographed 'Ello Ji Sanam Hum Aa Gaye' and the highly energetic 'Do Mastane Chale Zindagi Banane'.

Santoshi's film did not do well at the box office when it released in 1994, but it became a cult film through its television run over time. The film's unhinged comedy, with Aamir and Salman making fun of each other's personalities while shedding their vanity, is difficult to replicate in today's times where there is greater focus on star value and vanity vans are a norm.
