Crime Beat Trailer: Saqib Saleem plays an investigative journalist in Sudhir Mishra’s thriller series

The trailer of Saqib Saleem’s upcoming show Crime Beat was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. The thriller series is directed by Sudhir Mishra and Sanjeev Kaul. It is based on the book 'The Price You Pay' by Somnath Batabyal and also stars Saba Azad, Rahul Bhat, Sai Tamhankar, Danish Hussain and Rajesh Tailang in pivotal roles.

The trailer introduces Saqib, who plays an honest journalist struggling to find his footing both professionally and personally. His breakthrough comes when he uncovers a lead on a fugitive gangster’s return to India. As he delves deeper into the investigation, he is pulled into a web of deceit and hidden agendas from his superiors. Danish plays a senior journalist and Rajesh plays a cop, while Sai embodies a negative character involved in some kidnappings. As per the makers, “The series explores the complex intersection of law enforcement, media, and the underworld.”

Speaking about the show, Saqib said, “Portraying a crime journalist caught in the complex web of investigative reporting, power dynamics, and dire threats has been both thrilling and challenging. The story is packed with suspense, high stakes, and moral dilemmas, creating an edge-of-your-seat experience.”
