
Romantic-drama Sanam Teri Kasam, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, has massively benefitted from a re-release. The 2016 film returned to theatres on Friday and surpassed its lifetime collection of Rs 9 crore in just two days of its release.
According to Sacnilk.com the film made Rs 4.25 crore on Day 1, three times more than its original opening day number. On Saturday, the collections for Sanam Teri Kasam rose by 15 per cent to Rs 5 crore. The film’s total box office haul at the moment stands at Rs 9.50 crore.
The film, directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, marked the Hindi film debut of Harshvardhan and Pakistani actor Mawra.
Sanam Teri Kasam tells the story of a ex-convict Inder (Harshvardhan) and a traditional librarian Saru (Mawra). Inder and Saru fall in love and get married but a tragedy changes their lives forever.
In 2016, the film gained popularity for its music which was given by Himesh Reshammiya.
