Netflix has announced its 2025 slate for Indian films and web series at the Next on Netflix event in Mumbai on Monday. The biggest announcement came with Aryan Khan’s web series Ba***ds of Bollywood, which will release on the platform soon. Along with that, films like Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat’s Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins and Rajkummar Rao’s Toaster as well as shows like Rana Naidu Season 2, Delhi Crime Season 3, Kohrra Season 2 were announced.

Here's a complete list of the announcements:

Films

1.       Jewel Thief- The Heist Begins

The Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat starrer heist-thriller was announced at the event on Monday. It is directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal and also stars Kunal Kapoor and Nikita Dutta.

Its synopsis reads, “A jewel thief is hired by a powerful crime lord to steal the world’s most elusive diamond: the African Red Sun. His perfectly planned heist then takes a wild turn. Chaos, twists, and unexpected alliances unfold in this high-stakes race making it a deadly game of deception and betrayal.”

The film is produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand.

2.       Aap Jaisa Koi

Starring Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh, this romantic-drama has been directed by Vivek Soni. It is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra under Dharmatic Entertainment.

Its synopsis reads, “Aap Jaisa Koi is a heartwarming romantic drama that delves into the lives of two unique individuals, Shrirenu Tripathi and Madhu Bose.”

3.       Toaster

The teaser for Rajkummar Rao’s Toaster was announced at the event. It also stars Sanya Malhotra, Archana Puran Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Farah Khan, Upendra Limaye, Vinod Rawat, Jitendra Joshi and Seema Pahwa and has been directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary.

Its synopsis reads, “Murder and mayhem ensues as a miser gets fixated on a toaster he gifted for a wedding.”

The film has been produced by Patralekhaa.

4.       Test

Starring R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth and Meera Jasmine, Test is a sports drama which is written and directed by S Sashikanth. A teaser was unveiled that gave a glimpse into the world and characters of the film.

Its synopsis reads, “The worlds of three people converge during a historic cricket match, ultimately forcing them to make life-altering decisions.”

The team of Test shared, “Life is a game! Test is a story that mirrors how the drama of life and the battles we face mirror the intensity of sport. We are thrilled to have an ensemble of highly regarded actors like R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth, Meera Jasmine and others, embodying each character with depth and emotion. A combination that has never been seen together before. Test brings a story that will hit home hard, with themes of love, dreams, aspirations, choices and cricket."

The film is produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth.

5.       Dining with the Kapoors

Created by Armaan Jain, this film gives a sneak peek into the lives of Bollywood’s celebrated film family. It is written and directed by Smriti Mundhra and features Anissa Malhotra Jain, Aadar Jain, Rima Jain, Randhir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Bharat Sahni, Manoj Jain, Nitasha Nanda, Agastya Nanda, Navya Naveli Nanda, Kunal Kapoor, Zahan Kapoor, Shaira Kapoor, Neila Kapoor, Jatin Prithviraj Kapoor, Kanchan Desai, Namita Kapur and Pooja Desai.

Its synopsis reads, “Step into the world of Bollywood’s most iconic family, where food, fun, legacy and film come together in a heartfelt and intimate showcase. Seen through the eyes of the family members, this feel-good narrative aims to give fans and audiences a sneak peek into the Kapoor Khaandaan, their memories of growing up together, their love for food and the family's relationship with cinema.”

Speaking about it, Armaan said, “This film has been one of the most incredible and emotional experiences of my life. It’s a dream I’ve carried with me since childhood — a chance to share my love for storytelling, food, and family with the world. The real magic happens around the dinner table, where stories, laughter, and memories define who we are. This film is my way of honoring that legacy, celebrating the bonds that connect us, and sharing the warmth that food and family bring."

The film is produced by Aavashyak Media.

New Series

1.       The Ba***ds of Bollywood

Aryan Khan’s debut directorial series was announced at the event on Monday. It is written by Aryan, Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan.

A teaser was unveiled by the makers featuring Shah Rukh as he introduces the show.

Its synopsis reads, “An ambitious outsider and his friends navigate the larger-than-life yet uncertain world of Bollywood. The series blends self-aware humor with a high-stakes narrative — and promises a host of unforgettable cameos, blockbuster thrills and an adventurous ride into the world of Indian cinema.”

It is produced by Gauri Khan.

2.       The Royals

Starring Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter in the lead, The Royals will be releasing on the platform this year. Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, it stars an ensemble of Sakshi Tanwar, Zeenat Aman, Nora Fatehi, Milind Soman, Dino Morea, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra and Luke Kenny in pivotal roles.

Its synopsis reads, “When Aviraaj Singh, the polo-playing, pleasure-seeking, party prince, heir to the royal throne of Morpur, meets high-functioning, tightly wound, ace CEO Sophia Kanmani Shekhar, sparks and insults fly as they reluctantly come together to save his royally dysfunctional family from financial ruin and to save her own leading startup of luxury homestays in India from shark investment bankers. Two worlds, one of dwindling aristocracy, and the other of racing capitalism converge and throw up a whirlwind of clashing ambitions, steamy romance, and fashion-forward Instagrammable moments. The Royals is a breezy romcom served up with a side of dreamy palace life, under the blazing royal sun.”

The show has been produced by Pritish Nandy.

3.       Saare Jahan Se Acha

This historical-drama stars Pratik Gandhi in the lead and has been directed by Sumit Purohit. It also stars Sunny Hinduja, Suhail Nayyar, Kritika Kamra, Tillotama Shome, Rajat Kapoor, Anup Soni in pivotal roles.

Its synopsis reads, “In the volatile 1970s, a resilient Indian spy must defeat his counterpart across the border in a battle of wits and tradecraft to sabotage a nuclear program.”

The series has been produced by Bombay Fables.

4.       Super Subbu

Directed by Mallik Ram, Supper Subbu tells the story of Subbu, an unlucky young man, who lands in a soup when he is assigned as an adult sex education teacher in a remote village called Makhipur. Amidst comedic chaos, Subbu must keep his job a secret from his strict, traditional father, survive the village, achieve his dreams and find true love, all while dealing with his own inexperience.

It is produced by Rajiv Chilaka & Bharath Laxmipati and stars Sundeep Kishan, Mithila Palkar, Murali Sharma, Maanasa Choudhary in pivotal roles.

5.       Mandala Murders

Starring Vaani Kapoor, Vaibhav Raj Gupta and Surveen Chawla, Mandala Murders is a fantasy-thriller show directed by Gopi Puthran and Manan Rawat.

As per a synopsis shared by the team, “It tells the story of mysterious town of Charandaspur, where fate, myth, and murder entwine, detectives Rea Thomas and Vikram Singh unravel a chilling conspiracy of ritualistic killings tied to a centuries-old secret society. A land of dark prophecies blurs the lines between victims, survivors and truth-seekers in a haunting game of destiny.”

It is produced by YRF Entertainment.

6.       Glory

Glory is a sports-crime drama starring Divyenndu, Pulkit Samrat and Suvinder Vicky. It has been directed by Karan Anshuman and Kanishk Varma and written by Karan, Karmanya Ahuja, and Vaibhav Vishal.

Its synopsis reads, “A brutal attack shatters a family. Raghubir Singh, a legendary boxing coach, is forced to reunite with his estranged sons, Dev and Ravi. Old grudges flare. Blood demands blood. While the ring waits, Olympic glory teeters on the edge. Vengeance has a cost and secrets won't stay buried.”

It has been produced by Mohit Shah and Karan Anshuman.

7.       Akka

Headlined by Keerthy Suresh, Radhika Apte and Tanvi Azmi, Akka is set in the 1980s matriarchal society of a fictional city of Pernuru, South India. It is written and directed by Dharmaraj Shetty.

Its synopsis reads, “Akka is the tale of gangster queens whose matriarchal rule is challenged when an outsider brings an unseen threat, spiraling the all-powerful sisterhood into a chaos storm of violence and survival.”

The series is produced by YRF Entertainment with Aditya Chopra, Yogendra Mogre and Akshaye Widhani serving as executive producers.

Returning shows

1.       Delhi Crime: Season 3

The third season of the celebrated crime-drama returns with a new case based on a real-story. It stars Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Huma Qureshi, Sayani Gupta, Mita Vashisth and Jaya Bhattacharya and has been directed by Tanuj Chopra.

Its synopsis reads, “When the search for an injured baby’s missing mother unravels a massive human trafficking operation in India, DIG Vartika Chaturvedi faces the most challenging case of her career. Pitted against the ruthless trafficker Meena, Vartika and her team — Neeti, Bhupi, and the rest — must follow a trail of clues that leads them to uncover a vast trafficking network stretching far beyond India’s borders. As the investigation intensifies, the stakes rise, and the case becomes a defining moment for Madam Sir.”

The makers of Delhi Crime said, "We're thrilled to return with Season 3 of Delhi Crime. Madam Sir and her elite team face their most formidable challenge yet – an adversary who is brutal and ambitious. Building on the raw intensity that earned the series global acclaim, this season delves deeper into the moral complexities of modern India, where progress has a price and the line between victim and perpetrator sometimes blurs.”

It is produced by Golden Karavan and SK Global Entertainment.

2.       Kohrra: Season 2

Directed by Sudip Sharma along with Faisal Rahman, Kohrra Season 2 was announced by Netflix. It stars Barun Sobti and Mona Singh and has been written by Gunjit Chopra, Diggi Sisodia and Sudip.

Its synopsis reads, “A woman separated from her husband is found brutally murdered in her brother’s home and the case brings together the recently transferred Garundi with his new boss, the no-nonsense Dhanwant Kaur. But the two investigators soon realise that what’s as complicated as the case are the entanglements in their own personal lives.”

Team Kohrra shared in a statement, "We are thrilled to bring Kohrra back for a second season on Netflix after the incredible love and appreciation season one received. This time, we’re raising the stakes with new twists and the exciting addition of Mona Singh to the cast, who brings a whole new dimension to the story.”

3.       Khakee: The Bengal Chapter

Neeraj Pandey’s series returns with a new season set in Bengal in the early 2000s, where Gangsters and Politicians reign supreme and a decorated cop's death paves the way for a fearless IPS Arjun Maitra to take on the chaos and restore justice.

It stars Jeet, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Ritwik Bhowmik Aadil Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Pooja Chopra, Aakanksha Singh, Mimoh Chakroborty, Shraddha Das and has been directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray.

Neeraj spoke of the show and said, "With Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, we celebrate our continued partnership with Netflix in building a franchise where the audience will witness a culturally rich region, bustling streets of Kolkata, new faces, new conflicts, and a story that is just as intense but uniquely its own. In line with the trademark Khakee flavour, in the upcoming chapter, the stakes are higher, the truths are darker, and the challenges are grittier.”

4.       Rana Naidu: Season 2

Starring Rana Daggubati, Venkatesh Daggubati and Arjun Rampal in the lead, Rana Naidu: Season 2 has been directed by Karan Anshuman, Suparn Verma and Abhay Chopra. It also stars Surveen Chawla, Kriti Kharbandha Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Dino Morea in pivotal roles.

Its synopsis reads, “Rana Naidu embarks on one last job to secure his family’s future before getting out of the "fixing" business for good, but soon finds himself entangled in conflicts with his loved ones — and the looming threat of a ruthless underworld figure from his past.”

It is produced by Sunder Aaron.

5.       The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3

The third season of The Great Indian Kapil Show will stream on the platform this year. Showrun and directed by Anukalp Goswami, the talk-show features Kapil, Sunil Grover, Archana Puran Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda and Rajiv Thakur.

Kapil Sharma and team said in a statement, "We are extremely excited for another season of laughter, fun, and exciting conversations with your favorite guests. The love and support we’ve received from audiences across the world have been truly overwhelming. Making people laugh has always been an honor, and getting to do it once again fills us with gratitude.
