Kapil Sharma's recent comedy Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, which was released in theatres on December 12 to positive reviews from audiences and critics. However, due to its dismal performance at the box office, the makers have decided to re-release the film in January.
The move was reportedly made after its performance was affected by the success of Dhurandhar. However, in a press note shared by the film's PR team, no other film was mentioned.
The makers stated that the film's "theatrical run was impacted by limited screen availability due to ongoing multiplex takeovers by other releases."
They further added, "Even with limited screens, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 managed to make audiences laugh, entertain and relive the franchise's charm with its light-hearted comedy and situational humour. Keeping the ongoing excitement of the fans in mind, Producer Mr. Ratan Jain have decided to re-release the film once again in January 2026," the note added. A new release date, however, is yet to be announced. As per Sacnilk, the film managed to earn Rs 1.85 crore on day one of its release, and collected over Rs 12.31 crore so far in India.
Directed by Anukalp Goswami, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 revolves around Kapil Sharma's character Mohan, who wants to marry his girlfriend Sania, but is forced to marry three brides with three different religions and identities due to family pressure. A comedy-of-errors ensues where he is juggling his life with all three of them, trying to ensure that one doesn’t get to know about the other.
Our CE review of the film read, "When it works, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is laugh-out-loud funny. Kapil’s comebacks and the excuses he makes to get out of precarious situations oscillates between outlandish and enjoyable. Contrary to its prequel and how this genre of films tends to be, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 saves itself from the cheap corniness of a sex-comedy. Its situational humour might be eye-rollingly convenient but it got some giggles out of me."
Abbas-Mustan, who helmed the first part, has co-produced the film along with Ratan Jain and Ganesh Jain’s Venus Entertainment.
The first film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015) saw Kapil play Shiv Ram Kishan, who ‘marries’ three women without their knowledge after they threaten to die by suicide. He then tries to spend enough time with all of them, along with his actual girlfriend, while juggling from one floor to another in the very same building.
