It has been 30 years since the release of Aditya Chopra's romance film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles. Even after all these years, it remains an iconic film among the audience from all over the world and continues to receive their love and admiration. Take, for instance, the new statue of the DDLJ characters, Raj and Simran, that Shah Rukh and Kajol unveiled at Leicester Square the other day. It stands as a symbol of the film's timeless appeal. Shah Rukh took to social media to mark the occasion with the famous line from his 1995 film, "Bade Bade Deshon Mein, Aisi Chhoti Chhoti Baatein Hoti Rehti Hain, Senorita!" (Such little things keep happening in big countries, Senorita!)

The actor also said that he felt "thrilled to unveil the bronze statue."

Incidentally, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is also the first film from India to hold the distinction of having a statue dedicated to it at the Scenes in the Square Sculpture Trail.

Shah Rukh expressed his gratitude to those in the United Kingdom for allowing the installation of the statue at the location in London.

"Come meet Raj and Simran if and when you are in London... We would love to see you make more memories with DDLJ," the superstar wrote at the end of his note. It is worth noting that the two protagonists from Aditya Chopra's film meet for the first time while on a train that departs London. The iconic moment where Raj extends his hand to ensure that Simran gets the train also features at the end of the film, although the location there is not London but rather Maharashtra.
