The teaser of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming romantic-comedy, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari was unveiled by the makers on Friday. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Akshay Oberoi and Maniesh Paul in pivotal roles.
The teaser opens with Varun dressed as Prabhas’ character from the blockbuster Baahubali. He shows his look to his friend who seems to be dressed as Katappa from the film. The friend says, “Ranveer Singh ki dhoti me, Prabhas ka paudha lagrha hai (You are looking like a sapling of Prabhas in Ranveer Singh’s dhoti)”. Then Varun clarifies that he is not Bahubali and introduces himself as Sunny Sanskari. Janhvi is then shown wearing a red sari as she flaps her hair around. Sanya is briefly shown in a smiling shot and Rohit gets off a helicopter wearing a black suit. Then Sonu Nigam’s old song, ‘Bijuria’ plays over as all of them are shown dancing at a festive occasion. The teaser ends with a funny exchange between Varun and Janvhi in the flight.
Sharing the teaser, the makers wrote, “Quick intro: Four people. Two heartbreakers. One wedding.”
Its official plot has been kept under wraps, but as per reports, the film revolves around Sunny (Varun) and Tulsi Kumari (Janhvi), two people with opposite personalities. Sunny is a fun-loving and carefree guy, while Tulsi is a cultured and serious girl. Destiny brings them together, and they fall in love.
The film marks the second collaboration between Varun and Janhvi, following their first film together, Bawaal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, which released in 2023.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan.
The film has been delayed twice before. First, it was scheduled to be released on April 18 which was pushed to September 12 later. It is now set to be released in theatres on October 2.
