The trailer of upcoming romantic-musical Mannu Kya Karegga was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Directed by Ssanjay Tripaathy, known for helming the family-drama Binny And Family (2024), the film marks the debut of actors Vyom and Saachi Bindra who star in the lead. It also features Kumud Mishra, Vinay Pathak and Charu Shankar in pivotal roles.
The trailer introduces Mannu as a carefree, college going youngster who doesn’t know what he wants to do in life. He is shown riding bikes and playing football in his college. At one point Vinay’s character advises him to be more disciplined in life. His father, played by Kumud and mother are concerned about Mannu’s future. Then, he meets Saachi’s character, who finds him irritating at first. But the two eventually fall in love. At one point, she slaps him, accusing him of lying to her. Then Mannu is shown with a guitar on stage as he sings an intense song. The trailer ends with Kumud advising him while lying on a hospital bed as he says, “Pyaar kabhi over nahi hota aur jo over ho jaaye wo pyaar nahi hota (Love doesn’t get over and if it does, its not love)”.
Sharing the trailer, the makers wrote, “College romance returns in style with Mannu Kya Karegga, a story that captures the magic of first love, the joy of friendship, and the search for purpose. This is more than just a film, it’s a journey of love and self-discovery, brought alive through unforgettable music and heartfelt storytelling.”
The film is written by Ssanjay and Saurabh Gupta. It features music by Lalit Pandit with lyrics by Javed Akhtar, Lalit Pandit, Sharad Mehra, Kumaar and Alok Jha.
Produced by Sharad Mehta with Jannat Sethi and Sushant Tungare serving as executive producers, Mannu Kya Karegga is set to be released in theatres on September 12.
