Mumbai rains spare no one. A new video shows Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow Prateeksha being affected by a deluge in the city.
The video, shared by ABP Majha, shows water entering the residence as the area outside the bungalow is flooded with ankle-deep rainwater. Prateeksha was Amitabh Bachchan’s first house in Mumbai which the actor bought soon after the success of Sholay (1975).
There was heavy congestion in the city on Tuesday with flights and local train services also disrupted as many regions received about 300 mm of rainfall. As per officials, the red alert for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Palghar districts will be in place till Wednesday morning.
The Bachchan family moved into Prateeksha in 1976. Big B resided with his parents — poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and mother Teji in this house. It holds a special place for the Bachchan family, as both Shweta Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were born here. Prateeksha remained with the star for over 45 years after which he shifted to Jalsa.
Mr. Bachchan was last seen on-screen in Rajinikanth-starrer Vettaiyan, alongside Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and Ritika Singh, among others. He is currently hosting the 17th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, and will next appear in Ribhu Dasgupta’s Section 84. Additionally, he is set to reprise his role as Ashwatthama in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, featuring Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone, with production beginning in December this year.
