Faissal Khan levies new allegations against Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan’s brother Faissal Khan made some serious claims against the former in a press conference held on Monday. Faissal said that Aamir had an affair with UK-based journalist and author Jessica Hines, with whom he also allegedly has an illegitimate child.
In the press conference, Faissal said that his family wanted him to get married when Aamir was living with Kiran Rao. This irked Faissal, who then sent a letter to the family listing out reasons why he didn’t want to get married.
Faissal disclosed what he wrote in the letter and said, “Aamir married Reena and later divorced her. Then he had a relationship with Jessica Hines, unka illegal baccha tha (he had an illegitimate child), out of wedlock. He was living with Kiran at that time.” Faissal also mentioned in the letter how marriages in his family had not been successful, making him question their suggestions of getting him married.
Faissal took to social media earlier to announce that he had cut ties with his family. He wrote in the post, “With a heavy heart yet renewed courage, I wish to share that I have severed all family ties, as declared through a public notice. This step, though difficult, is essential for my healing and growth. Life now enters a new chapter of freedom, dignity, and self-discovery one that I embrace with positivity, truth, and strength.”
He had levelled several accusations against Aamir earlier in an interview, saying that the actor had locked him up in a room for over a year. “My phone was taken away and I couldn't go out. There were bodyguards outside my room. I was given medicine,” he said, adding that it was only after a year that Aamir let him move to another house.
Aamir’s family later released a statement to clarify, calling Faissal's accusations “hurtful and misleading”. The statement read, “It is important to share that every choice regarding Faissal has been taken collectively as a family, in consultation with multiple medical professionals, and has been based on love, compassion, and a desire to support his emotional and psychological wellbeing. For this reason, we have refrained from publicly discussing the details of a painful and difficult period for our family. We request the media for empathy, and to refrain from turning a private matter into salacious, inflammatory and hurtful gossip."
Aamir and Faissal have had a troubled relationship. Faissal had earlier taken the family to court over some legal dispute. The two starred together in the 2000 film, Mela.
