
Tehran (ZEE5, August 14): Headlined by John Abraham, the geopolitical spy-thriller draws inspiration from the 2012 bomb explosion near the Israeli Embassy in Delhi, a real-life incident that spiralled into complex diplomatic ripples. John plays no-nonsense cop Rajeev Kumar, who is pulled into a covert operation that spans continents, ideologies, and fractured alliances. He arrives in the Iranian capital Tehran for a mission but soon finds himself being hunted. Directed by Arun Gopalan, the OTT film also features Manushi Chhillar, Neeru Bajwa, and Madhurima Tuli.
Saare Jahan Se Accha (Netflix, August 13): This espionage-thriller is set in the 1970s, post the Bangladesh Liberation War. Pakistan, bitter from its defeat, is trying to assemble a nuclear bomb. Now, it is up to Vishnu Shankar (Pratik Gandhi), an operative of the newly-formed Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) to foil the plans of the neighbouring country. A battle of wits ensues between him and his ISI counterpart Murtuza (Sunny Hinduja) and may the best spy win. The series, directed by Sumit Purohit and created by Gaurav Shukla and Bhavesh Mandalia, also features Rajat Kapoor, Tillotama Shome and Kritika Kamra, among others.
Court Kacheri (Sony LIV, August 13): TVF’s legal drama stars Pawan Malhotra in the lead. It is a coming-of-age story of Param (Ashish Verma), a reluctant young man forced into the world of law by his father’s towering legacy. The official synopsis of the show reads, "Court Kacheri is set in India’s district courts. It explores emotionally charged human stories, high-stakes legal battles, and harsh courtroom realities, all through the eyes of Param, a young man born into a lawyer’s legacy but determined to escape it." The show also features Puneet Batra, Anandeshwar Dwivedi and Priyasha Bhardwaj in pivotal roles. It is created by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Ruchir Arun with Puneet Batra, Anurag Ramesh Shukla, Akshay Anand Kohli, Anurag Jha serving as writers.
