War 2 advance booking: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s upcoming spy-thriller War 2 has sold over 1.28 lakh tickets for the Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages for Day 1, as per Sacnilk. The Ayan Mukerji directorial has grossed around Rs 4.2 crore for its opening day and Rs 8.65 crore with the data for block seats.

It has sold over 1 lakh tickets for Hindi alone with 7842 shows and over 18000 tickets for the Telugu version despite the advance booking not opening in major regions. NTR’s stardom is expected to pull in more numbers when the bookings begin in full-swing for the region.

The film is clashing at the theatres with Rajinikanth’s actioner Coolie and is expected to face tough competition especially in the Tamil belt. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has dominated the advance booking for now and is riding much ahead of War 2, as it has earned Rs 19.68 crore without block seats and Rs 26.28 crore with block seats.

War 2 will feature Hrithik and NTR facing each other in a battle of wits and power. Speaking earlier at a promotional event about them, Ayan said, “Honestly, we have set off to make a great two-hero film in War 2. There is something in our story, when you come out after watching the film, you will have to tell me who is the good guy and who is the bad one. The answer is not so clear.”

Also spilling beans on Jr NTR’s entry scene in the film, Ayan added on a light-hearted note, “We are smart enough to not make a movie where Jr NTR comes at interval point. About everything else, you have to see the film and discover it. We have not yet released the real soul of our film.”

A few days ago, the film was passed with a U/A 16+ certificate, but with a few cuts. The final run time of the film is now 171.44 minutes. It is produced by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films and set to be released in theatres on August 14, ahead of the Independence Day weekend.
