It's a royal affair. The trailer for the Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar starrer rom-com series The Royals was released by the makers on Tuesday. The show has been written and developed by Neha Veena Sharma, directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana and produced by Rangita and Ishita Pritish Nandy.
The Royals also boasts an ensemble cast of Zeenat Aman, Dino Morea, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra and Luke Kenny.
Cracks are creeping in the fortunes of Morpur's royalty. After the demise of their Maharaja, the reins of the estate fall in the hands of Aviraj Singh (Ishaan), the haughty prince. As their riches are waning, Aviraj gets into a deal with Sophia Shekhar (Bhumi), the CEO of a company which is going to turn their palace into a regal bread and breakfast experience. Whacky characters abound as fireworks spark between Aviraj and Sophia in this quirky satire on Corporate meets Crown.
The Royals will start streaming on Netflix from May 9.
