
Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday-starrer courtroom drama Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh has made Rs 17.25 crore in two days at the box office, as per Sacnilk.com. The Karan Singh Tyagi directorial opened with Rs 7.75 crore on Friday, and the collections jumped to Rs 9.50 crore the next day.
While lately many films are facing a tough time at the box office, Kesari 2 has had a decent start. The film’s collections in its first two days are similar to Sunny Deol’s Jaat.
On Saturday, Kesari Chapter 2 recorded an overall occupancy of 25.78 per percent across 3,723 shows nationwide. Chennai registered the highest occupancy at 56 per cent from 45 shows, while Bengaluru followed closely with 43.25 per cent across 246 shows. In Hyderabad, Akshay’s film saw an occupancy of 37.75 per cent from 147 shows. Mumbai recorded a 22.50 per cent occupancy from 749 shows, whereas in Delhi-NCR, the film registered 29.25 per cent across 899 shows.
Kesari 2 has been produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape Of Good Films. The film also features Regina Cassandra and Alexx O’Nell in important roles.
