Nushrratt Bharuccha opened up about her recently released horror film Chhorii 2 and said that delving into the depths of motherhood in it was an ‘emotional experience’. Also starring Soha Ali Khan, the film has been helmed by Vishal Furia.

Speaking about her role in the film, Nushrratt said, “When we were shooting Chhorii, I was worried I wouldn't be able to convince the audience that I was an eight months pregnant woman. But playing a mother went so much deeper than just the look. Emotionally, it was one of the toughest roles I’ve taken on because I didn’t know where the line was, how much was too much, or how little was too little.”

She added, “I’ve carried that learning into Chhorii 2, which is even more intense and demanding in its own way. Delving into the depths of motherhood for Chhorii 2 was an emotional experience. As the world of the film expanded, our dedication to authenticity on set only grew, ultimately bringing the powerful message of the story to life.”

Talking about supernatural forces, the actor said, “Some things in life just don’t have clear explanations. I do believe there are energies beyond what we can see or understand—both good and evil. Thankfully, I haven’t experienced anything supernatural myself, but I’ve always felt that these forces exist around us in ways we may never fully comprehend.”

Produced by T-Series, Abundantia Entertainment, Psych, and Tamarisk Lane Production, the horror-thriller was released on Prime Video on April 11.
