Arjun Kapoor says he wanted to be a filmmaker: ‘It’s fun to act, but I am curious to know the director’s vision’

Arjun Kapoor opened up recently about his love for films and filmmaking and said that he wanted to be a filmmaker when he started out. He opened up on how he used to visit the sets of his father's, Boney Kapoor, films, and that's when he fell in love with the process of filmmaking.

In an interview with Chalchitra Talks, Arjun said, “I started primarily because I wanted to be a filmmaker. When I was growing up, I was quite interested about films and would often go on sets. I saw my father making Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993). It was the most expensive film in Hindi cinema at that point. After you visit such sets, you get enamoured by it, and the joy of filmmaking seems amazing. So, I started watching films, and my interest grew over time as a filmmaker/creative artist.”

He added, “I was always inclined towards the making. It's fun to act, but I am curious to know the 'why' behind a director's vision, the DoP's way of lighting, the nitty-gritties behind editing, colours, and the texture of the film. So, I get tremendous joy from the entire process.”

On the work front, Arjun was last seen in the romantic-comedy Mere Husband Ki Biwi, which was released in theatres earlier this year. He also has the sequel of No Entry (2005) in the pipeline.
